PG110 The Digital Darkroom
Description: In the past, photographers relied on their skills in the darkroom almost as much as much as their skills behind the camera, as is still true today. In the darkroom a photographer can take an average photograph and make it a great photograph, or change its appearance by adding filters or effects. With the rise of the digital camera, the traditional darkroom has given way to the digital darkroom. The digital darkroom offers photographers a broad array of tools and effects for manipulating images and provides a level of freedom beyond that of a traditional darkroom. This course is an introduction to digital photo enhancement techniques, and provides a hands-on look at various photo editing tools. You will learn to manage files, adjust the image, create masks, add effects, touch up and print your images.
Topics: File management, digital photography basics, image enhancement, image editing, selections & masks, filters and effects, image retouch and print preparation.
Duration: 1 day (or 2 evenings)
Level: Fundamental
Prerequisite: You should have a working knowledge of digital photography in order to get the most out of this class.
