Introducing "The Howard Hype"

The Howard Hype is a standard news blog, very similar to many you will find on the internet today, but with one unique exception -- all content is written and published by middle school kids from the nearby Howard Middle School. The blog, conceived by Page 15 and built by Planet Digital, was created to be an outlet for students regarding the fun and interesting things developing at the school, around the neighborhood, and ultimately tackling other more important social and education issues as well. Page 15 is a nonprofit literacy group working to support public school students in Central Florida through workshops and tutoring in an effort to enhance communication, encourage creativity, and inspire the arts.

*Fun Fact: The Howard Hype website, created for Thornton Park's own Howard Middle School, was designed and built by Thornton Park resident and graphic designer, Jamie Miller, while working at local Thornton Park design and education firm, Planet Digital.

* The Howard Hype project was mentioned in a recent issue of "Downtown Confidential," a newsletter for local news & events and is distributed by the City of Orlando to thousands of individuals and businesses in Downtown and the surrounding area.
