VR200 V-Ray: Intermediate Concepts
Description: This class is designed for users with at least 6 months experience with V-Ray in a production environment, or 1 year in day-to-day experimental use. This session is an accelerated version of the 3-day Foundations class, covering the same features and settings but in a different order, in greater depth and in much less time. Included with your tuition is a signed copy of the 3ds Max Architectural Visualization book by Brian L. Smith, your instructor for this class.
Topics: Brief overview of V-Ray Fundamentals, Real-World Light Simulation, Critical Settings, Advanced Settings for Fine Tuning, Global Illumination, Materials, Image Based Lighting, Caustics, Displacement Mapping, IES Light Application, and more.
You will learn:
- Creation of photorealistic quality images
- Applying light to interior and exterior scenes
- How settings affect quality and speed of rendering
- How to troubleshoot poorly illuminated scenes - common problems
- To improve the quality of your own existing renderings
- To apply numerous "looks" to the same scene
- Creation of animations
Duration: 2 days (or 4 days)
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: 6 months experience with V-Ray in a production environment, or 1 year in day-to-day experimental use. Proficiency using 3ds Max (version 6 or beyond) in a production environment is also required.
