MYA201 Maya Lighting and Rendering
Description: This class continues the workflow from modeling and materials within a 3D scene, and creates and adjusts the lighting to enhance realism or establishes a mood. The second half of this session focuses on the numerous ways of rendering your images from within Maya. This session is primarily intended for individuals looking to output stills and animations with refined detail and quality.
Topics: Light types, (Spot, Point, Area, Ambient, Directional, Volume) light functions, Back, Key, Fill, Bounce, attenuation, Mental Ray, light networks, and Render layers.
You will learn:
• Traditional lighting techniques including 3 point lighting
• Multiple global illumination techniques
• Optimizing your lighting setups for efficient render times
• Using lights as projectors
• Indoor and outdoor lighting setups
• Rendering techniques for different output types including print, web and DVD/video/film
Duration: 3 days (or 6 nights)
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: Maya Fundamentals or a working knowledge of Maya in a production environment is required.
