MYA210 3D Design for Games
Description: Many modelers, animators and texture artists use Maya for the development and design of 3D models and environments for games and simulation. This course explores the tools required to produce 3D polygonal games within Maya, emphasizing best workflow practices for their application. You will learn how to model objects, create levels and characters, animate characters and props, apply motion capture data, and export data to a real-time system.
Topics: Level design and construction, Maya architecture, polygon tools, NURBS tools, polygon modeling, color application, texture creation, skeletons and deformation controls, keyframes, expressions, motion capture data, export to real-time.
Duration: 3 days (or 6 evenings)
Level: Intermediate
Prerequisite: You should have a working knowledge of Maya and be able to create basic 3D models in order to get the most out of this class.
