Description: Every successful marketing and merchandise design team utilizes a specific set of digital image creation tools, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator being among the most common. Photoshop is a powerful image creation and editing program that can be used in merchandise and promotional design, capable of taking a concept sketch from traditional or digital art and manipulating it to become a final work of print-ready art. Whether designing for posters, t-shirts, advertisements, or other promotional items and merchandise, alone or on a team, you will learn how Photoshop best fits into this process. Integration with Illustrator is also covered in this class.

Topics: CMYK vs. RGB, history palette, layer styles and effects, channels, masks, patterns and textures, custom brushes, paths, clipping groups, ink & paint techniques (rendering/airbrushing), image retouching, color correction, filters and effects, automation with actions and droplets, contact sheet, text tool, integration with Illustrator, and print preparation.

Duration: 2 days (or 4 evenings)

Level: Intermediate

Prerequisite: You should have previous experience designing in Adobe Photoshop or have taken the "Photoshop CS3 Basics" course in order to get the most out of this class.
