Description: Every successful marketing and merchandise design team utilizes a specific set of digital image creation tools, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator being among the most common. Illustrator allows you to produce exceptional graphics for merchandise and promotional design, with vector artwork conversion for print, video, web, and mobile devices. Whether designing for posters, t-shirts, advertisements, or other promotional items and merchandise, alone or on a team, you will learn how to take a concept sketch and transform it into a final product of print-ready artwork. Integration with Photoshop is also covered in this class.
Topics: Make the most of multiple art boards, maximize your use of assets, CMYK vs. RGB, object properties, linking and locking layers, layer options, text, masks, paths and compound paths, pathfinder, creating custom brushes, ink & paint techniques (rendering/airbrushing), filters and effects, patterns, actions, use the separation preview to fix costly errors before printing, linking vs. embedding, and integration with Photoshop.

Prerequisite: You should have previous experience designing in Adobe Illustrator or have taken the “Illustrator Basics” course in order to get the most out of this class.
